Cash ISA

OakNorth Cash ISA

OakNorth offers two Cash ISAs: a fixed-rate ISA over terms from one to three years, and an easy-access ISA. Neither is a flexible ISA, and because OakNorth has no current account both have to be funded from a bank account you already hold elsewhere.

Before you commit an allowance

What to check first

  • Neither ISA is flexible. Take £5,000 out and you lose £5,000 of that year's allowance permanently — a real difference from providers whose ISAs let you replace withdrawals in the same tax year.
  • You have 30 calendar days from approval to fund the account. Miss that and the account expires and is closed.
  • On the Fixed Rate Cash ISA you can only pay in during those first 30 days. After the window closes, no further deposits are allowed for the rest of the term.
  • OakNorth accepts deposits well above the FSCS limit across its accounts, so a large balance means choosing rate over protection on the excess.
  • ISA transfers must be arranged through OakNorth's own application, not by moving the money yourself — withdrawing it first would lose its tax-free status.

A Cash ISA allowance is annual and does not roll over. Read how the providers compare before committing it to one bank.
