BankAdvisor uses privacy-focused analytics and limited first-party provider-click records to understand how the website is used. The site does not currently use advertising cookies, analytics cookies or cross-site visitor profiles.

This distinction matters: BankAdvisor's own pages can be used without accepting non-essential cookies, but a bank or affiliate website may have different practices after you follow a link away from us.

Cookies currently used by BankAdvisor

BankAdvisor does not currently set cookies for analytics, advertising, personalisation or consent preferences. We therefore do not display a cookie consent banner at present.

A cookie is a small file placed on a device. UK rules also cover some other technologies that store information on, or gain access to information from, a user's device. This policy explains our current use of analytics and click records as well as cookies themselves.

Vercel Web Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how the website is used and which content is useful. It provides aggregated information such as page views, referral source, approximate location, browser, operating system and device type.

We also send selected custom events for internal navigation, bank-card selections and outbound-link clicks. The event labels describe the destination and location of a link; they are not intended to contain a visitor's name, email address or other directly identifying information.

How Vercel counts visitors

Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies. Vercel identifies a visitor for analytics purposes using a hash created from the incoming request. The hash is valid for one day and is then reset, so it is not used to follow a visitor between different days or different websites.

Vercel states that its Web Analytics data points are anonymised and used for aggregated statistics. More detail about the service and the information attached to a data point is available in Vercel's privacy and compliance documentation.

Provider click records

When someone follows a tracked link from BankAdvisor to a bank or other provider, we may create a first-party record of that click. This helps us understand outbound traffic and evidence referrals without setting a cookie or building a visitor profile.

The record may include the provider and banking category, destination address, source page and link location, referring address, device category, browser user-agent and the date and time of the click. The record does not include a name or email address, and our click-record database does not store the visitor's IP address.

Bank, provider and affiliate websites

Following an external or affiliate link takes you away from BankAdvisor. The destination bank, provider or affiliate network may use its own cookies or similar technologies under its own cookie and privacy notices.

BankAdvisor does not control cookies set after you reach a third-party website. Check the destination site's privacy choices before accepting cookies or supplying personal information.

Your choices

Most browsers let you view, delete or block cookies and restrict some tracking technologies. Privacy-focused browser settings and extensions may also prevent analytics requests, although this can affect how some websites work.

Because BankAdvisor does not currently set non-essential cookies, there are no BankAdvisor cookie preferences to change. Cookie choices made on a bank, provider or affiliate website must be managed on that website.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if our use of cookies, analytics or similar technologies changes. The last-updated date at the top of the page shows when this version was reviewed.

If we introduce non-essential cookies that require consent, we will provide an appropriate choice before setting them. We will also explain what they do and why they are used.
